We pride ourselves on the levels of technical expertise and innovation demonstrated by all our team and earlier this year one of our technical support engineers achieved recognition for his dedication and commitment to “be the best”.
Shaun Burrows EngTech MCIPHE RP is now one of only 178 Master Plumbers awarded the certificate by the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) since the scheme began in 2001.
Shaun travelled to Fishmongers’ Hall in London to receive his certificate from Alderman The Lord Mountevans, The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of London at the annual Livery Companies Skill Council awards ceremony (see photo).
Many of you may have received advice from Shaun during the six years he’s been with Pegler Yorkshire. He advises end users, installers and specifiers on the technical aspects of the company’s products and provides onsite training on the installation, servicing and commissioning of products.
Technical advice is available through onsite training and the Freephone technical help number 0800 156 0050, and increasingly via Pegler Yorkshire’s social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin.

Q: Is it true that you should not need any jointing compound on the olive of a compression fitting? With the cheap fittings you do and even then it’s not guaranteed they won't leak, but with the quality range of fittings I find I don't need the paste.
A: We do not advise the use of any jointing compound on a standard compression fitting used on water supply systems. There may, in some circumstances, be a need to apply jointing compound to fittings used on gas systems. In this instance it is recommended that the joint is made first, dis-assembled, the jointing compound applied, then the joint re-made as this will prevent the compression olive from creating a false seal by compressing to the compound. Full details on the installation of a compression fitting can be found on the Pegler Yorkshire website at the link below. http://www.pegleryorkshire.co.uk/MEDIA/DownloadAttributes/CC_002/74398676_Kuterlite_600_900.pdf
