The Factory is at the centre of everything we do at Pegler. Our staff working within the Factory are vital to ensuring we continue to produce top quality material, which is then manufactured into a wide variety of plumbing, heating and engineering products, which are then sold and distributed worldwide.

Our Roles

Our Factory Manager leads a team of Group Leaders and Team Leaders who oversee work within the various units in the Factory. At our Doncaster site we produce our own brass billet which is then manufactured into a variety of products at Pegler sites in the UK and Europe.

We have operatives working a range of different shifts to undertake the wide variety of duties required to turn raw material into a finished product ready to be despatched to our customers. Operatives within different areas of the factory undertake diverse tasks to produce the top quality products we pride ourselves on at Pegler.

There are teams producing the brass billet, other transporting this to appropriate areas of the factory for manufacture, and then machine operatives who undertake work on a range of machines to produce our range of products.

Once the products have been manufactured they are assembled and quality checked before being packaged ready to be transported to the warehouse.

It is crucial that our staff working in the Factory are mindful of health and safety at all times, and work in line with guidelines that are given in regards to equipment that should be used and protective clothing that must be worn, and our Health and Safety team provide support and advise to staff and managers working within the Factory to ensure that staff work safely at all times.

The Health and Safety team provide training on topics such as working at height and manual handling, investigate and report on any accidents which take place on site, making recommendations as to how similar accidents could be avoided in the future and they make sure we are working within legislation at all times.

Currently working in Valves and Fittings I take responsibility for KPI targets such as efficiency, quality and On Time in Full (OTIF), along with programmes of 5S and Cost of Failure reduction.”
