The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Business Partner in a variety of management accounting tasks, whilst working towards a recognised accountancy professional qualification. The role holder needs to be highly-driven to succeed and hard-working with a willingness to learn and develop. In return, the company will provide training and a range of relevant finance experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as a member of the Finance Department
- Calculate accounting adjustments as part of period end routine and post journal entries
- Analyse and report on departmental operational expenditure and employment costs
- Assist with calculation of product costs and maintenance of bill of materials / routing
- Support inventory management, annual stocktake process and PI checks
- Maintain capital expenditure approval forms and account for Fixed Assets
Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Strong IT skills – especially MS Excel
- Good academic record
- Educated to degree level or holds an alternative relevant qualification
- Communication – verbal and written
- Analytical skills
- Time-management / working to deadlines
- Problem-solving / initiative
- Personal effectiveness / commitment
- Resilience and flexibility in the face of change
