As a Graduate Technical Support Engineer you are a member of the Quality Assurance and Technical team with the primary function of ensuring customer satisfaction. You will provide both technical and quotation information to assist in the attainment of both regional and national sales targets. You will work closely with the ‘Sales force’ in establishing project product requirements to assist in order placement via the customer.
As part of this role you will also be required to support with complaints handling.

You are expected to interpret drawing requirements in providing a ‘bill of materials’ for both valving and pipework opportunities and where necessary, provide commentary to assist the customer in identifying potential value engineering options.

You will be required to communicate technical information for product and installations in a wide variety of applications responding to technical enquiries.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the respective Sales contact/customer contact on product issues where necessary
  • Produce customer quotations (bill of materials) and be the first point of technical contact for Pegler Sales staff – Training given
  • Respond to technical queries from end users, installers, service agents, specifies etc – Training given
  • Be able to resolve/assist customers by providing the best level of support from design, installation, fault finding and commissioning standpoint – Training given
  • Work towards gaining experience to visit customers to take part in project meetings and assess complaints and their potential liabilities, including activity levels to resolve
  • Reading technical drawings and advising of installation requirements
  • Communicate technical & document specification information relating to product and installation in various applications
  • Accepts responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others
  • Maintenance of CRM Training database
  • Any other duties consummate with the grade and nature of this position

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • ONC/HNC (City & Guilds) qualification or degree in Technological or Engineering related discipline
  • Knowledge of how to fault diagnose and implementation of preventative actions
  • Understanding role responsibilities and how this contributes to the success of the department
  • Competent knowledge & utilisation of CAD & Excel
  • Knowledge of construction/plumbing hydronic control
  • Good plumbing product knowledge - both domestic and commercial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel within the UK and Europe as required to visit installers & contractors
