Current Vacancy: Key Account Manager - Major Merchant Groups - Doncaster

Role Summary
You will be responsible for the management of a number of Pegler’s National Merchant Groups. You will work with the principal stake holders across the UK to develop partnerships and build relationships with the objective to raise the profile of the Pegler products and services portfolio through the group’s individual brands. You will engage with customer regional management and the sales team to secure engagement and gain market share.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • • Identify, establish and maintain contact policy with key personnel at the specified group of major customers and where appropriate involved the ASM
  • • Develop Sales and Marketing Plans with chosen distribution partners
  • • Carrying out product and sales presentations
  • • Work autonomously on a day to day basis, recognising where it is appropriate to involve others
  • • Coordinating activities and follow up of area sales managers
  • • Develop an in depth knowledge of the Company’s products, their features, benefits and applications as well as a technical knowledge of the Company’s products e.g. product performance and specifications, application of products to specific industries and processes, and product troubleshooting
  • • Develop an in depth knowledge and understanding of the organisation's operating environment, regulatory climate and other external challenges
  • • Build and maximise professional relationships
  • • Use all company systems as tools to carry out the role i.e. CRM, outlook etc
  • • Work with the sales teams to put in place clear business plans for Key Account development within designated area and a clear business plan to cover key contracts to be reviewed on an ongoing basis
  • • Understands and follows Company safety, health & environmental and any other Company policies and procedures
  • • Any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of this position

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • • Knowledge and experience of working in a relevant industry would be a distinct advantage (but not essential)
  • • A background in selling
  • • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • • A clear desire to succeed personally and on behalf of the Company
  • • Driven, enthusiastic and resilient
  • • High level of IT skills
  • • Full clean driving licence
  • • Able to travel within the UK and Europe occasionally as and when required to visit customers
  • • Bachelors degree in business management or other relevant subject (would be advantageous)

  • • Commercial Awareness – Ability to apply wider business knowledge to make commercial decisions. Applying financial understanding. Displays business understanding. Understanding of wider economic business issues
