An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NPD Production Engineer to join our New Product Development Department based at our Doncaster Site, reporting into the head of NPD. The purpose of the role is to provide production engineering input to product development projects. Normally working within a team, they will define and develop the manufacturing process(es) that will produce the new products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design of manufacturing processes and any associated collateral including tools, jigs and fixtures
  • Project Management of the NPI phase of NPD projects (and occasionally other types of project)
  • Contribute with technical input (in various forms) to ensure products being developed are suitable for subsequent manufacture. Provide ideas, sketches, concept drawings, prototypes, visuals, presentations, reports, analysis, project plans, capital applications, cost estimates.
  • Lead projects through recognisable stages, with clearly defined objectives, deliverables, roles and responsibilities whilst adhering to timescale and cost

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • Engineering Design Knowledge - Process Development Process, Product Change Process, Project Management, Product Design Process, Innovation, Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Product Testing, Technology, MS Office, CAD and other software-based design tools.
  • Valve Manufacture Knowledge - Technical knowledge of the Design, Performance, Materials, and Manufacture of Industrial and Commercial Valves
  • Production Engineering Knowledge - Developing comprehensive manufacturing solutions for a range of products, Design for Forging and Machining, Tool, Jig and Fixture design. Uses effectively within the engineering design process to develop ideas into practical solutions. Is a skilled user of at least one CAD package, (preferably Solidworks) and at least one Analysis package.
  • Must be degree educated in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
  • Full Driving License
  • Able to Travel within the UK and abroad as and when required
