Working at Pegler
To manufacture/maintain tools and machine parts for Pegler Yorkshire Group.
The role will involve working on a three-shift schedule with Days (06:00-14:00), Nights (22:00-06:00) and Afters (14:00-22:00)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Validation and control of machine operation (inc. Basic CNC program) so as to ensure SHE requirements adherence and no damage to machine, equipment or tooling.
- Quality control of tooling/machine parts to specification (i.e. Engineering Drawing).
- Setting & operation of manual machines (incl. Lathe, milling m/c, grinders).
- Validation of CADCAM programs so that tools/machine parts are produced to specification, whilst ensuring SHE requirement adherence and no damage to machine, equipment, or tooling (including “lights out working”)
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance and engineering departments.
- Housekeeping within the Toolroom.
- Responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Build/maintain relationships with relevant customers.
- Problem solving at base level.
- Any other roles and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Experience in general machining in a Toolroom environment to include bench fitting,
- Must be able to specify cutting tools and ancillary equipment, and to be able to inspect work parts using manual measuring equipment.
- It is essential to be able to read and understand engineering drawings/specifications.
- Time served apprentice within a Toolroom environment (including supporting qualifications applicable within apprentice program i.e. NVQ2, NVQ3, City & Guilds).
