Pegler Yorkshire is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers and distributors of valves and fittings for the plumbing and heating industries. It is an integral part of this diverse, multinational, customer focused business with operations in U.S.A, Europe and the Far East.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join our New Product Development Department based at our Doncaster Site, reporting into the Development Manager. The purpose of the role is to provide design and engineering input to development projects. Working within a team, they will define and develop the appearance, mechanical and physical performance of Pegler products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing of components, products and all associated collateral
  • Active design input to all stages of development projects
  • Producing sketches, concept drawings, models, prototypes, visuals, presentations, reports, analysis, project plans, capital applications, cost estimates, Product Change Requests.
  • Facilitating design reviews
  • Project Management of smaller scale NPD projects (and occasionally other types of project)
  • Leads projects through recognisable stages, with clearly defined objectives, deliverables, roles and responsibilities whilst adhering to timescale and cost

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • Design Knowledge - Product Development Process, Product Design Process, Product Change Process, Project Management, Innovation, Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Product Testing, Technology, MS Office, CAD and other software-based design tools.
  • Valve Design Knowledge - Technical knowledge of the Design, Performance, Materials, Manufacture and Applications of Industrial and Commercial Valves. Design and development of Industrial, Automated and Actuated Valves
  • Must have previously worked as a designer at all stages of the development process, and experienced in all stages of the design and development of Industrial, Automated and Actuated Valves
  • Must be degree educated in Design, Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
  • Full Driving License
  • Able to Travel within the UK and abroad as and when required
