exciting challenges ahead for a young and ambitious individual
Callum, a young and ambitious (20……. year old) has been a valued member of the IPS UK team since he joined the company in September 2018.
Callum is an Apprentice Setter/Operator within our Tectite department in Doncaster. “As a Setter/Operator is my job to make sure that the machine is ready and set up for production. In addition to that it is my responsibility to check and make sure that all the products meet the quality standards.”
Next to his work at IPS, Callum is currently studying Level 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering at Doncaster College. Combining this with an active lifestyle of running and regularly socialising with friends, keeps him a busy man.
“The biggest challenge in my job currently is learning how to manufacture the new Seppelfricke valves on the BTB 5 machine. I haven’t had any experience with gas valve products, plus this is a new machine. The most satisfying thing is definitely when I finally finish a challenging job and it’s all been done correctly and to a high standard.”
Callum chose to join Aalberts because of the many exciting opportunities presented within the business combined with the innovative nature of the company. “I would definitely recommend Aalberts as a good company to come and work for because of the many possibilities and exciting challenges.”
In the coming months Callum would really like to learn more about the robotic side of machines. “This is really interesting to me and I feel that is where the future of engineering is headed.”
